![]() ![]() It is still a little bit of a pain in the butt, but it is manageable. (I was amazed at how quickly DNG converter does the conversion.) Then import the DNGs into Lightroom. Then open up DNG converter, and select all of the files in that folder. First, download your memory card to their own separate file (I created a folder "CR3 to DNG" on my desktop. DNG conversion is pretty fast and easy, in two steps. I just went through the same thing when I got my R. Luminar is probably something I'll keep even if I find something else, but I'd really like to find a real replacement for Lightroom and say goodbye to it forever. Luminar seemed like a good program to do the basics and maybe try the more intelligent editing stuff it does once in a while. Photo editing is more a task than fun for me. I'm not a big editor/manipulator of my photos. I just don't want to pay someone every month for the rest of my life to be able to edit my own photos. ![]() I'm open to anything and really don't mind spending money on the more expensive products. If anyone wants to suggest another photo editor/converter/cataloger I'm all ears. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I couldn't import the LR catalog but it would be nice to do. ![]() I thought Luminar could import LR catalogs but an answer on another forum seems to suggest no. Really I'm trying to get away from LR, but just wanted to ease into Luminar, or quite frankly anything else, while keeping my LR file structure and catalog for now.Ī while back I looked at several different options but forgot exactly what does what. I guess I could copy the CR3 files to a temporary directory, convert them there and then import to LR form that folder. Do you know if it is easy to do a large batch of files? Yes I'm aware I can convert the CR3 to DNG with the converter. DNG files are supported in both Lightroom 6 and Luminar. The problem is in your settings.Īll I can offer is to use the free Adobe DNG converter. Even when I "import as DNG" I don't think it sees the CR3's either. When trying to import photos from the SD card, LR Classic only sees he jpegs, and ignores the CR3 files. ![]()
